The trend for bare light bulbs, both alone and paired with fixtures that make a feature of the bulb, symbolises the paring down to basics and stripping away coverings to show the true form underneath.  It’s a bit industrial; an extension of the New York loft apartment look now being brought into more luxurious surroundings, and a nod to old-fashioned simplicity and to science.

Today, with the legislation in place to promote energy efficient lighting sources, it can be difficult to find bare light bulbs that look as good as we’d like them to.  Fortunately they do exist – have a look at some of the lights pictured below to get some inspiration for where a bare bulb could fit into your home.
